Bravissimo is a sparkling Holiday Presentation with an all-star international cast of singers featuring famous arias, duets and overtures from some of the worlds most popular operas, such as Carmen, Madama Butterfly, Nabucco, La Bohème, Samson and Delilah, The Marriage of Figaro and many more. The beauty of Bravissimo! -- it allows the listener to understand all styles of opera. The audience is not only given a musical experience but also a historical one at that. No composer gives a better example of opera comique (comic opera) than Mozart and his Magic Flute. The same can be said about Puccini and the intensity of his serious romantic operas Madama Butterfly and Turandot. Opera aficionados and newcomers alike have embraced this innovative opera extravaganza since it premiered at Roy Thomson Hall in 2007.

Watch a Trailer (sample is a lower resolution than actual DVD or Blu-ray):

The musical show Bravissimo is dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the Novaya Opera’s foundation. It is a selection of classical operatic masterpieces, representing different opera music forms: arias, duets, trios, quartets, quintets, choruses, romances, folk songs and orchestral numbers.

The protagonist of the show is the Theatre. The scene of Part 1, which consists of Russian classical operatic numbers, is set in the Hermitage Garden in the early 20th century.

In Part 2 we leave the would-be theatrical quarters of Part 1 and "enter" the Theatre proper to listen to foreign operatic hits. This production is an expression of our gratitude to and admiration for all opera composers, to whom the Novaya Opera never stops saying "Bravissimo!".

The cast includes Italian Maestro, Roberto Paternostro, leading the 75 piece Opera Canada Symphony, American sopranos Susan Neves and Sarah Jane McMahon, fellow American tenor Carl Tenner, Portuguese-Italian tenor Bruno Ribeiro, Russian mezzo-soprano Elena Bocharova and Serbian baritone Nikola Mijailovic.
